Biography:
Anthony Marentic was born and raised in Wheaton, Illinois. He graduated high school in
1987 then joined the Army Military Band to play trumpet. After the Army, Anthony moved
to Las Vegas and attended the University of Nevada Las Vegas. He received his Bachelor
Degree in Music Education in 1995, his Master in Music Composition in 2000 and his 2nd
Master's degree in Educational Leadership in 2004. Anthony is currently working on his
Doctorate in Educational Leadership and anticipates on graduating in 2010.
Anthony is an active educator who believes in his students. This is shown by his
commitment to the Mojave High School Band program where he has been the Director of
Bands and Department Coordinator since 2002. Through his direction, the Mojave High
School band has achieved many awards and recognitions. The most recent was the first
place ranking in the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade this past January. Anthony teaches
his students more than just music, he teaches them life skills and shows them how they can
succeed in school and achieve their goals. Anthony is currently teaching band at Canyon
Springs High School.
Anthony is a proud member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. He has been
an advisor for the Las Vegas Alumni’s youth program, Kappa Leadership League for three
years. He mentors minority high school students by helping them stay on track and shows
them how to prepare for college. He helps the young men develop leadership skills;
understand the importance of staying in school and to become productive citizens in
society. He has also served as the Keeper of Records, Keeper of Exchequer, Vice Polemarch
and the chapter’s webmaster. |
